Chocolate Spice Cake

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/3 cup HERSEY'S Cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips
Vanilla Glaze
1. Heat oven to 350 'F grease and flour 13x9x2" baking pan.
2 . Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt in large bowl. Stir in applesauce, milk, butter and vanilla; beat until well blended. Add nuts, if desired, and raisin's or chips. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Drizzle with vanilla Glaze.
Vanilla Glaze combine 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablelspoons softened butter or margarine, 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water or milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in medium bowl; beat with whisk until smooth and of desired consistency. Makes about 1/4 cups glaze.
