As you can tell by the pictures, Kathy really had a great trip last week and is real excited about future fishing trips and also me buying/making more spinner baits.

 

I really met my match this trip as I only got one good fish in the 10 days and she had at least 6.

 

All fish were caught on 3/8 oz spinner baits finessed/drug through the heavy weeds.  Mostly blue and chart skirts with various blades but the gold Colorado caught most of the big fish and

the many others.  Black and brown skirts were a strong second choice in color.

 

Spoons were not as effective this time in the super weed areas of the river.  I love that river !!!!

 

The walleyes are unusual in that they were also caught on the spinner baits during our last trip out on Thursday.  That had Jerry N. really shaking his head in disbelief.

My walleye was caught on one of Howard Cox's Twin Spins (Monroe Lures- Perry IA).  A back skirt and chart lead head with chrome blades.  It also caught some nice pike as well before being bit off.  He will love to hear that !!

 

Anyway, good trip overall but as you know the weather (strong winds) was a big issue. The good outings made up for the dead time.
